Advanced Microscopy Center in Biology

The Advanced Microscopy Center in Biology provides access to cutting-edge electron and fluorescence microscopy equipment. There are two specialties: electron microscopy and super-resolution fluorescence microscopy. Training and help with problem solving is provided.

The Electron Microscopy Core Laboratory provides equipment for sample preparation, including high-pressure freezers, routine transmission electron microscopy, tomographic electron microscopy and cryo-electron microscopy for the study of molecular structure.

The Fluorescence Microscopy Facility provides equipment for routine fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, and super-resolution microscopes including TIRF-PALM, 3D-PALM and STORM, and scanning confocal PALM microscopy.
